I’m Brian Gunn, and I am running for City Council in District 4 because I believe in the power of community, accountability, and progress.Born in District 4, Birmingham has always been home to me. My parents, proud graduates of Birmingham City Schools and products of 1960s Birmingham taught me the importance of never forgetting where I come from. Their resilience and dedication to our community instilled a sense of responsibility to give back and lead purposefully. While I spent much of my formative years outside the city, I returned with a commitment to investing in the place that shaped my foundation.My work in community engagement and policy—along with serving on boards focused on public safety, education, and city planning—has centered on transparency, collaboration, and ensuring residents have a voice in decisions that impact their daily lives. From advocating for data-driven solutions in criminal justice reform to working alongside neighborhood leaders and small businesses, I have always prioritized real, tangible progress that uplifts our community.I’m running for City Council to push for safer streets, stronger local businesses, improved infrastructure, and a Birmingham where every has an opportunity to realize their dreams.Explore this page to learn more about my vision, upcoming events, and how you can get involved.
